Coastal trip, SF to LA, November 2007

I drove down to Los Angeles to pick up a new piece from Susanne Vielmetter's gallery, taking the coastal route because I had the time and wanted to see if with all the hills and switchbacks I could wear down my brakes enough to get them replaced under warranty.

I didn't wear down the brakes enough, nor did I pick up the piece from the gallery. Though it was waiting for me and was all I expected it to be, the gallery had the same piece in a larger format–four panels, each about 2 feet by 4 feet–making a correspondingly huger impact. The gallery let me change my purchase to larger the one, but I need to wait till it's produced. No matter–this gives me time to plan the unveiling party.

A few museums are also looking at this piece. There's an edition of 3, and while their acquisition committees deliberate, I got number 1!
